The Person Behind Katolikos
Katolikos is the developer behind these tools and resources, but its work is shaped and directed by Bishop Ashley R. Deutschmann.
Bishop Ashley is an ordained Christian priest and bishop, consecrated to the episcopate on Pentecost 2026 (24 May 2026). He began building and developing Katolikos out of real frustration with the digital tools available to churches, ministries, and individual Christians. Too often, the options on offer were expensive, poorly suited to Christian use, or built without a deep understanding of the liturgical, pastoral, and devotional needs of the faithful.
His work is shaped not only by theological study and pastoral ministry, but also by lived experience across different church settings and jurisdictions. That wider ecumenical exposure helps Katolikos build tools with a broader, more practical understanding of Christian life, worship, and mission.
